What is SPP

The Spatial Planning Platform (SPP) was established by the Government of Japan and UN-Habitat's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in 2018 as a network of stakeholders aiming to achieve the formulation and implementation of more effective national and regional spatial planning. The platform acts as a framework for central governments, international organizations, local governments, NGOs, private sector, experts, and other various institutions to share knowledge and exchange experiences.
The 8th SPP Meeting will be held as Part I of the “The 3rd Networking Seminar of the Fukuoka Platform for Sustainable Cities in Asia and the Pacific"(South Asia Seminar on Sustainable Urban Development), organized in collaboration with UN-Habitat and JICA.
This meeting will feature keynote speeches and panel discussions on the theme of “The Role of Regional Planning and Ensuring its Implementation” on recent national land policies.
